From Salzburg Airport, the public busline no. 260 goes to Maishofen in the direction of Zell am See, price is approx. € 12,-, bus stop: Maishofen junction Glemmtal, Schloss Saalhof is only 50 m from the bus stop.

A private airport shuttle bus runs regularly from Salzburg and Munich airports to Maishofen and Zell am See for around € 65 (one way from Salzburg) per person.

By car from the north:

  • Coming from the A8 Munich – Salzburg , take the Traunstein exit and drive just under 60 kilometers of country road via Lofer in the direction of Zell am See.
  • Alternatively via the Inntalautobahn A93 /A8 Munich- Innsbruck exit Oberaudorf- Walchsee- Kössen – Schwendt- St. Johann in Tirol- Erpfendorf- Waidring-Lofer-Saalfelden- direction Zell am See
  • From the A1 Vienna – Salzburg , take the Bad Reichenhall exit in Germany
  • Approx. 2 km before Zell am See take the Maishofen/Saalbach-Hinterglemm exit, traffic circle first exit to Maishofen and turn right immediately after the town sign “Maishofen” to our farm “Schloss Saalhof”

By car from the south:

  • Via the Brenner Pass: Brennero – Innsbruck, exit Wörgl – St. Johann – Saalfelden – Maishofen.
  • Via the Tauernautobahn coming from Villach, exit Bischofshofen – Zell am See – Maishofen
  • Shortest route via country roads: Udine – Tolmezzo – Lienz – Matrei in Osttirol – Felbertauern – Mittersill – Zell am See – Maishofen
  • Approx. 2 km after Zell am See, take the Maishofen exit to the right. Immediately after the town sign for Maishofen, turn right to our farm.

By car from the west:

  • Innsbruck – Exit Wörgl – St. Johann – Saalfelden – Maishofen

If traveling by train , the nearest major train station is in Zell am See(check the ÖBB timetable), buses run regularly to Maishofen. The nearest bus stop is Maishofen Abzweigung Glemmtal, just 50 m from Schloss Saalhof.

From May to October, all buses and trains in Pinzgau are free with the guest card!

The smaller train station in Maishofen is called Maishofen-Saalbach, about a 5-minute walk from Schloss Saalhof.
