Pinzgau fence

Pinzgauer fence The entire garden area is surrounded by the typical “Pinzga fence”: This is clunked (= split) larch wood in 5 different lengths, which is inserted into each other very tightly in a very complex way and therefore holds without nails, etc.

In the past, all fences, even alpine pastures, were bordered with this labour-intensive fence. Unfortunately, hardly anyone understands this craft these days. Today we have enclosed the garden area of Schloss Saalhof with this beautiful fence.
